Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
The highly regarded flagship wine from Gralyn Estate, this 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, full-bodied and elegant expression of Wilyabrup Cabernet. Dense dark crimson in colour, the bouquet is lifted with notes of blackcurrant, violet, cedar and earthy spice. The palate is powerful yet finely structured, revealing a core of sweet dark fruit, seamlessly integrated oak and silky, persistent tannins.
Described by Ray Jordan as “a cracker… one of the best from the region,” the wine displays “beautiful perfumed notes with blackberry, violet and cedary oak. A tightly woven Cabernet with fine tannins and excellent fruit-oak integration.” Awarded 95 points, he recommended extended cellaring, calling it “a wine that really does need time in the cellar to bring out its best.”
Winestate Magazine also praised its longevity and poise, noting “lovely vibrancy of berry aromas and typical cool-climate Cabernet structure with masses of fine tannin.” It received 4.5 stars and was nominated for Wine of the Year in 2015.
Carefully cellared in our museum collection, this wine is drinking beautifully and will continue to evolve through 2030 and beyond.
