Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Museum Release
The highly regarded flagship wine from Gralyn Estate, this 2009 Museum Release is a rich, full-bodied and elegant expression of premium Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon. Dense dark crimson in colour, the bouquet is perfumed with layers of blackcurrant, violets, cedar and earthy spice. The palate is intense and beautifully structured, with sweet dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and seamlessly integrated oak delivering a long, persistent finish.
This wine was judged as one of the Top Five Cabernet Sauvignons in Australia and New Zealand by Winestate Magazine, and has received critical acclaim from leading wine reviewers:
“Boy this is one of the very best Cabernets from Gralyn… and there have been some very good ones. The fruit displays gorgeous red berry and violet aromas creating a sensational perfume to the senses. The palate is pure and seamlessly constructed with a fine silky mouthfeel.”
97 Points – Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Guide
“Deep crimson; a polished blend of red and black fruits, with cedar, black olive and a generous seasoning of fine French oak; the full-bodied palate is tightly wound and densely packed with fine-grained tannins, concluding a long and sophisticated finish.”
James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
“Our Wine Challenge of the Year puts the ‘best of the best’ against each other, looking for a Top Five List from each of the 14 categories.”
