Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

$500.00

Museum Release
A bench mark cabernet sauvignon from a remarkable year, carefully cellared, and now re-released as a Museum wine from the owners' Private Collection. The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is densely coloured with an intense bouquet of blackcurrants, mint, chocolate and subtle cedary oak.  The palate is powerful, complex and well balanced with fine, firm tannins and rich chocolate/cassis flavours.  The finish is long and persistent.

Accolades
"A fabulously aged cabernet that is drinking beautifully now. Obvious smoky/savoury/bacon bone characters on the nose that carry on to the palate." 98 points
Winestate Magazine Cabernet and Bordeaux Challenge 2022

"This was the top pointed Margaret River wine ahead of an impressive line-up of the region’s best Cabernet Sauvignons.  “Chairman Karl Stockhausen was a strong supporter noting its complexity, balance, excellent chocolate and cassis flavours and long, lingering finish.”
Peter Forrestal, Coonawarra v’s Margaret River Cabernet Tasting, Australian Wine Selector

“Great inky colour intensity.  Nose is intense with black cherry and raspberry fruit, cassis, eucalypt and menthol.  The palate is powerful, with richness and depth of fruit, notes of licorice and soy, strong tannins encase the fruit and the acidity is noticeable.  All this wine needs is time.  A superb example of strength and finesse.”  Silver medal
Judge, The International Wine and Spirit Competition

“Strong varietal character; very good structure, balance and length; black currant and a touch of chocolate; controlled oak.
