Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The flagship wine of Gralyn Estate, the 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, full-bodied expression of elegance and power from Margaret River. Vintaged from unirrigated, organically grown vines planted in 1975, this wine reflects the depth and character of old vine Cabernet from Wilyabrup, at the heart of the Margaret River region. Dense dark crimson in colour, the nose is perfumed with blackcurrant, violet, cedar, and spice. The palate is intense yet beautifully balanced, with a core of sweet dark fruit and finely textured tannins driving a long, persistent finish. A wine of structure, purity and remarkable cellaring potential.

"This is the partner to the outstanding Reserve Shiraz, and it's captured all that you would expect from these old vines in a marvellous season. The aromas of violets, red currant, and even a little cranberry work within the darker blackcurrant and slightly cedary characters. The palate is still tightly wound with a fine core of oak and fruit held close and long through to an extended finish. It's had 18 months in oak, and it has all the structure, poise, and palate power that you would expect for a wine that's got 20 years still in the tank."
