Vintage Port 2000
Museum Release
Gralyn Estate’s 2000 Vintage Port is a rare collector’s piece, crafted in the millennium year from old-vine Shiraz, then 25 years of age at the time of vinification. Cellared for a quarter of a century in the estate’s original underground cellar, this release stands as both a landmark in time and a testament to Gralyn’s fortified heritage.
Deep garnet in colour with a mature brick-red rim, the wine reveals a layered bouquet of black cherry, dried fig, molasses, and cacao. The palate is powerful yet refined, with concentrated dark fruits and savoury nut complexity carried by fine, integrated tannins. A long, dry, and persistent finish confirms its stature as a great Vintage Port.
Renowned for longevity, Vintage Port rewards extended cellaring. After 25 years, this release reflects both the richness of its old-vine Shiraz origins and the elegance of graceful maturation. With only limited bottles available, it offers collectors a rare opportunity to secure a piece of Gralyn Estate’s fortified legacy.
Serving Suggestion:
Stand the bottle upright prior to opening to allow natural sediment to settle. Use a port (church-key) opener to carefully remove the cork. Decant gently. Older ports require minimal aeration — we recommend enjoying within a few hours of opening.
