Vintage Port 1999

Museum Release
Gralyn Estate’s 1999 Vintage Port is a rare museum release, crafted from old-vine Shiraz and cellared for over two decades in the estate’s original underground cellar. Produced in the final year of the 20th century, it stands as both a moment in history and a testament to Gralyn’s fortified winemaking legacy.

Deep garnet in colour with a mature brick-red rim, the bouquet is expressive with notes of black cherry, raisin, dark chocolate, and roasted spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, layered with dark fruits, dried fig, and savoury nut complexity, all carried by fine, integrated tannins. A long, dry, and persistent finish confirms its place as a classic example of the style.

Vintage Port is renowned for its longevity. After more than 20 years in bottle, this release shows the power and richness of its old-vine Shiraz origins, harmonised by the elegance of extended maturation. With only limited bottles available, it offers collectors a rare chance to secure a piece of Gralyn Estate’s fortified heritage.

Serving Suggestion:
Stand the bottle upright prior to opening to allow natural sediment to settle. Use a port (church-key) opener to carefully remove the cork. Decant gently. Older ports require minimal aeration — we recommend enjoying within a few hours of opening.
