Cabernet Sauvignon
The highly regarded flagship wine from Gralyn Estate, rich, full-bodied and elegant. Vintaged from unirrigated, organically grown Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1975. Dense, dark crimson in colour, perfumed with blackcurrant, violets, cedar and spice. The palate is well balanced, intense and powerful, with a core of sweet fruit and finely textured tannins supporting a long persistent finish.

2013 Gralyn Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Medium deep crimson. Fresh developed blackcurrant, roasted walnut, vanilla, marzipan aromas with subtle bush-garrigue notes. Inky deep and gravelly in structure with lovely cassis, dark plum fruits, fine cedar, firm tannins and integrated mocha oak notes. Finishes claret firm, sweet-fruited and minerally. Nearly ten years old, but still youthful, buoyant and fresh with a touch of cigar-box complexity. Impressively balanced and preserved. What a surprise!

“A beautifully stylish and refined cabernet from these old Margaret River vines. Highly scented aromas of blackcurrant and cedary spice with a trace of African violet and varietal graphite. The palate is beautifully integrated and a striking feature of the wine. Chalky fine tannins and perfectly judged oak play the balance game, supporting and focusing through to that extended, powerful, crashing finish. A finely tuned expressive cabernet.”

“This wine has started to open up, especially on the nose, with an extra year in bottle from when last tasted. The impressive thing here is how well those tannins have been managed and harnessed to produce a wine that is elegant and so refined. Highly concentrated palate structure with firm, sinewy tannins and a decent hit of oak in support. It is a wine with tremendous cellaring potential.”
