Reserve Chardonnay 2017

A single vineyard wine, elegant, complex and finely crafted. Pale straw-green in colour, aromatic with white stone fruit, matchstick, citrus and spice. Wild yeast fermentation and maturation in French oak barriques has produced a finely textured palate. The pristine fruit is intense and layered with minerality, smoky oak and linear acidity to form a taut framework that hallmarks future greatness. It is very rewarding to see this wine top the list of 60 Western Australian Chardonnays in Decanter Magazine.

Peak Drinking: Now - 2028

“A still amazingly youthful, fruit driven style with lovely flow and balance of pretty pear and stone fruit varietal characters.  The acid backbone ties it all together.”
98 Points – Winestate Magazine 2021, Nominated for ‘Wine of the Year’

“Hint of bay leaf, snappy green apple and grapefruit to both nose and palate. There’s a terrific Margaret River purity of fruit expression. Purity without being a zinger. Some apple skin bloom and a vinous, wild lift to the finish. Very tightly wound, but pure and long!”

Sarah Ahmed, Judge Decanter Magazine January 2019

“Big, bold grapefruit, peach and apricot aromas here with a gently flinty and toasty edge. The palate has a very composed, seamless and fresh feel with juicy, focused and smooth-honed peaches and lemons.”

“A striking and distinctive chardonnay sourced from the Wildberry Springs vineyard.  The nose immediately engages with struck match, spice and butterscotch.  The palate delivers a concentrated mix of minerally white peach and grapefruit.  A powerful statement of Margaret River chardonnay built with some ageing potential.”
