Artizan Rare Muscat
Winemaker's Tasting NotesA consistent trophy winner, this luscious fortified dessert wine is predominantly muscat - vibrant, deep amber-brown with a green rim. The bouquet is lifted and layered with spice, butterscotch and fruit cake. Many years maturation in old oak casks has produced richness and rancio complexity. Intense flavours of raisin and toffee sustain a long, clean finish. Aptly labelled, this limited release has the stamp of a true Artizan - hand crafted and unique. These qualities are also reflected in the label with original artwork by Merilyn Hutton.

Wine of the Year Awards Annual Edition 2018, Winestate
Nose is a lovely combination of rose petals, mocha and spices. Palate is a great concentration of sweet rich coffee flavours layered with toffee/chocolaty aged characters. 5 stars
Winestate Magazine, Annual 2018
Another batch of world class wine in a varietal style in which Australia excels. Great intensity of richness combined with excellent use of freshened balanced material. The art of wine making!

Deep tawny brown colour with a yellow-ish rim. The bouquet is marvellously mature and complex, showing toffee and malt as well as aged muscat fruit and wood-aged rancio flavours. There is a lot of raisiny sweetness on the mid-palate and the flavour reverberates around the mouth long after it's gone. Luscious sweetness and great length. A very distinguished old muscat. 96/100

Winner of 9 Trophies, including the 6 Nations Wine Challenge Fortified Trophy. A Champion among the New World Champions - a tremendous accolade
6 Nations Wine Challenge, Sydney, 2015
These beautiful wines are a highlight of every wine show and this is no exception. A worthy winner by the slimmest of margins. After considerable discussion it was this wine's elegance and poise - despite its incredible concentration and power - that won it the trophy. Rancio, age yet freshness, a balance of spirit, sweetness and acidity... just a terrific example of what time and patience can achieve.
