Winemaker's Tasting NotesA selection of the "best of the best" barrels. Dense dark crimson in colour with a complex bouquet, layered with blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar and violets. The palate is rich and powerful, plush and velvety, with a core of sweet fruit and fine savoury tannins supporting a long persistent finish. Awarded Five Stars, equalling Chateaux Latour, Haut Brion and Mouton Rothschild, in the World Cabernet Challenge. It will continue to evolve with further age.
One of the more elegant and stylish of the Gralyn cabernets. In some ways it's a bit deceptive as it builds in the mouth with the fine supple tannins and classy oak wrapping up the waves of blackcurrant fruit intensity, smooth, with a velvety feel in the mouth. Well bred and polished in all aspects. Cellar 10 years. 95/100
Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Guide 2012
Mature colour, aromas of cedar and berries. Huge, dense palate - excellent depth of varietal fruit flavours wrapped in good tannins. Drink now or cellar further. 5 Stars.
