Gralyn made the region's first White Port in 1984. White Port is a very old, traditional port, made in Portugal before they made red ports. In Europe it is drunk as an aperitif before dinner, to stimulate the flow of digestive juices and aid digestion. Similarly, Sherry was also served as an aperitif, for the same reason. The Gralyn White Port was originally made from Riesling grapes - today it is made from premium quality Semillon and Chardonnay grapes.
An elegant fortified dessert wine, pale straw in colour. The bouquet is lifted with peach, citrus and dried fruit aromas. The palate is well balanced, refreshing, round and full flavoured with a long persistent finish. A very popular wine which may be served chilled as an aperitif, or with a favourite dessert.
