Winemaker's Tasting NotesThe highly regarded flagship wine from Gralyn Estate; rich, full-bodied and elegant. Dense, dark crimson in colour, perfumed with blackcurrant, violets, cedar and spice. The palate is well balanced, intense and powerful, with a core of sweet fruit and finely textured tannins supporting a long persistent finish.
Supremely elegant and stylish expression of Wilyabrup cabernet. There is a steely thread running through the palate with hints of graphite and ironstone that gives it such structure. But the supple fruit is the key. Perfumed blackcurrant and a hint of violet and cedar oak. Lovely poise and refinement on the palate. Great cellaring potential. 97/100
Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Guide 2017
Intriguing and complex nose of red currants, black olives, earth, spice and cigar box. An elegant palate that shows blackberry flavours with eucalypt, mint and chocolate, good texture and length.
