Reserve Shiraz 2011
Gralyn Estate is regarded as one of Margaret River’s top Shiraz producers. The first Shiraz was vintaged in 1979 and time has proven these wines have the ability to age beautifully in the bottle. This ‘Reserve’ is a selection of the ‘best of the best’ barrels. Deep purple crimson in colour, perfumed with spice, blackberry, plum and cedary oak. The palate is supple, well balanced and richly flavoured with ripe black fruits, cedar and spice. A core of sweet berry fruit and finely structured tannins support a long, persistent finish. This wine will reward careful cellaring.
“One of the smoothest and most stylish of any Gralyn shiraz yet released. It’s from a very good vintage which it has captured beautifully. Spicy perfumed notes on the nose show traces of cedar and satsuma plum characters. The palate is supported by fine grained oak and fine supple tannins. Still a very youthful wine with extended cellaring ahead of it.”
